I think the traditional sailing adventure requires a bit of an introduction. A long time ago, my brother, my uncle Paul and myself went sailing. We were kids at the time and we went to a couple bars ( on the shore and on an island in the lake ) and procceded to have a few too many drinks. Drinking age in Holland is 16. It was one of the best times I ever had. My brother didn't seem to have much fun.... but oh well. So since then, every time I get to Holland.... I make it a point to get out on the same lake, rent a boat from the same place and go out and have the same drinks. The drinks of choice are Heineken ( of course ) and Genever ( sp? ). Which is a Dutch gin server very cold. Paul usually brings the young...... and I don't have the heart to tell him that I like the old... well... maybe he may see this... or next time... I'll bring a bottle. Either way... it is always the greatest time and this time we were able to capture the whole thing with the digital camera. Oh yeah.. one more thing. The dog that you will see is Chester. He is terrified of walking on docks and to be honest...I don't thinks he is too crazy about the sailing trips either. He has to come along though... and I think deep down he really does have a good time. If you think you are seeing things... no your not, that really is how his teeth look. He has a terible under bite problem... but that only adds to his character. Paul and Chester arrive to pick us up at one of the bars. |
